Season and record terms
162-0 — A perfect modern season: all 162 regular-season games won, zero lost. Never achieved in real baseball; the target the game is named for.
162-game season — The MLB regular-season length since the 1961–62 expansion. It replaced the older 154-game schedule.
154-game season — The schedule length used before expansion (and through the 1950s). In the game, a 1950s roster plays 154 games rather than 162.
116 wins — The most wins in a single MLB season, held jointly by the 2001 Seattle Mariners (116-46) and the 1906 Chicago Cubs (116-36). The practical ceiling of a real season.
Winning percentage — Wins divided by total games. The 1906 Cubs’ .763 is the best of the modern era; even that meant 36 losses.
Winning streak — Consecutive wins. The modern record is 26 (1916 New York Giants, including a tie); 22 without a tie (2017 Cleveland Indians). Even the longest is about a sixth of a season.
Positions in the draft
The nine slots — You draft one player for each: catcher (C), first base (1B), second base (2B), third base (3B), shortstop (SS), left field (LF), center field (CF), right field (RF), and pitcher (P).
Position player ratings — Hitters are rated on contact, power, discipline, speed, and fielding.
Pitcher ratings — The pitcher is rated on stuff, control, and stamina rather than the hitting stats.
Archetype — A player’s style label, such as Slugger, Contact Hitter, Speedster, Defensive Specialist, Five-Tool Player, Table Setter, Power Pitcher, Control Artist, or Workhorse.
Game mechanics
Era chemistry — A bonus your roster earns when its players come from compatible baseball eras, and a penalty when they clash. Often more decisive than a single higher-rated pick.
Era modifiers — Per-decade adjustments to run-scoring and the value of hitting, pitching, and defense — a pitching-first 1960s versus a high-offense 1990s, for example.
Classic mode — Draft mode with candidate ratings visible.
Blind Draft — Draft mode with ratings hidden; you pick on name, era, and archetype alone.
Reroll — Swapping a round’s candidate pool for a fresh one. Limited per run.
Seed — A short code that reproduces a specific draft. Share it so someone can play your exact board.
Daily Challenge — A once-a-day run where everyone gets the same seed and the same draft options, feeding a public leaderboard.
Grade — The letter your run earns: S for a flawless (zero-loss) season, then A through F by winning percentage.
