The 162-0 Daily Challenge and Leaderboard

By 162-0 Editorial Updated July 19, 2026

The Daily Challenge is how 162-0 turns a solitaire draft game into a shared, fair competition. Here’s how it works.

Same draft for everyone

Normally, each run spins a random sequence of eras and candidate pools. The Daily Challenge removes that randomness: it uses a deterministic seed built from the date, so everyone who plays on the same UTC day gets the exact same sequence of draft options. If you and a friend both play today’s challenge, you’re choosing from an identical set of players at every one of the nine picks.

That’s what makes the leaderboard meaningful. When the draft board is the same for everyone, the standings measure decisions — who read the pools best and built the strongest roster — rather than who got luckier options.

Submitting to the leaderboard

Finish a Daily Challenge run and you can add your season to a public leaderboard. There’s no account and no sign-up: you type a display name, hit submit, and you’re on the board. Entries are ranked with flawless (zero-loss) seasons first, then by winning percentage, then by wins.

A few practical notes:

  • Only Daily Challenge runs count. The server re-checks that your submitted seed matches the day’s official seed, so free-play or custom-seed runs can’t be submitted.
  • Don’t use a real name. Whatever you type is shown publicly. Keep it to a nickname.
  • Entries clear after three days. Each day’s board is temporary; the challenge resets every UTC day.

Seeds: replay any draft

Separately from the daily board, every run generates a short seed. Paste someone else’s seed on the welcome screen and you’ll get the exact same sequence of draft options they had. Make the same picks for a mirror match, or different picks for a genuine head-to-head — same board, different choices.

Why “flawless first” ranking

Because the entire game is built around chasing a season no real team has ever had. A zero-loss run always outranks a one-loss run, no matter the win totals, which keeps the leaderboard pointed at the actual goal: 162-0. New to the game? Start with how to play.

Frequently asked questions

Does everyone get the same draft in the Daily Challenge?+

Yes. The Daily Challenge uses a deterministic seed derived from the date, so every player who plays on the same UTC day sees the identical sequence of eras and candidate pools. The only variable is which players you draft.

Do I need an account to use the leaderboard?+

No. You type a display name and submit — that's it. An anonymous, per-browser ID lets you update your own entry instead of creating duplicates, and it's never shown publicly.

How long do leaderboard entries last?+

Each day's board is kept for three days and then automatically cleared. The challenge resets every UTC day.
